Job summary

Methodist Southwest Medical Center inDallas County seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to deliver comprehensive cardiopulmonary care across age groups.

The role requires an accredited Respiratory Care Program, BLS/ACLS, and NBRC registration, with 6 months of experience. You will work under supervision in a teaching hospital, handling ABG, PFTs, ventilator support, and related therapies.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• At least 6 months of respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, weaning, aerosol, humidity therapy, IPPB, and chest physiotherapy.
• Report prescribed cardiopulmonary diagnostics: ABG, pulse oximetry, PFTs, ECG.
• Prepare treatment evaluations with bedside assessment and chart review.
• Apply critical thinking for appropriate actions.
• Interpret CXR, ABG, and PFT results for patient data.
• Assemble, check, operate and troubleshoot CP equipment (ventilators, gas analyzers, etc.).
• Participate in infection control, safety and quality assurance tasks.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance of CP equipment and work areas.
• Use patient-friendly scripting to improve satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as required.
