Job summary

Saint Michael's Medical Center in Newark, NJ is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver safe, evidence-based patient care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit. You will perform nursing assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation while guiding patient/family education and collaborating with the care team.

The role requires an active RN license, BLS, ACLS within 30 days, and preferred Acute Care and Ventilator Management experience.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice and direct patient/family teaching.
• Guide and supervise other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patient condition, including cardiac monitoring and diagnostic results.
