Job summary

The Menninger Clinic in Houston seeks a registered nurse (BSN) to provide patient-centered psychiatric care on a 12-hour shift, 7p-7a, with rotating days and every other weekend as needed.

You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, document in the medical record, and participate in performance improvement activities. Texas RN license and 2 years psychiatric nursing required.

Qualifications

• Education: BSN.
• License: Current RN license in Texas.
• Experience: Two years of psychiatric nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assessment and care planning – set goals including physical, psychological, social and continuing care needs; evaluate actions and adjust as needed.
• Develop comprehensive nursing care plans based on nursing diagnosis and standards of care.
• Utilize the nursing process to direct and provide patient care; modify plans based on ongoing assessment.
• Provide safe and timely administration of medications and treatments; report errors.
• Engage patients in full participation of the treatment program.
• Participate in performance improvement and hospital committee activities.
