Job summary

Topaz Fiscal Services in Kentucky seeks an LVN/LPN nurse to organize and direct nursing care for residents on a shift. You will ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local, and company regulations, explain treatments, and administer medications according to approved techniques.

You will transcribe orders, document progress, communicate with the team, and participate in care planning and quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Active LVN/LPN license in the State of Kentucky.
• Minimum 2 years of related nursing experience.
• Good standing in the state registry.

Responsibilities

• Responsible during the shift for the total nursing care of residents in the assigned unit.
• Explains procedures and treatments and care plan to resident.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
• Transcribes physician's orders.
• Charts progress notes reflecting care and resident response.
• Receives/gives report from/to nurse relieving/coming on duty and records information.
• Follows procedures for charting and reporting incidents/accidents.
• Conducts frequent rounds to evaluate care delivery.
• Maintains awareness of resident comfort and safety needs.
• Observes resident and notifies supervisor or physician of changes.
• Takes vital signs to detect deviations from normal.
• Responds to emergencies per nursing standards and policies.
• Assists in completing care plans and attends care conferences as needed.
• Investigates allegations of abuse with the DON/Administrator.
