Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking a dedicated rail loadout operator to safely load railcars to specifications while monitoring flow, equipment, and product quality on-site. You will inspect and maintain loadout gear, coordinate with train crews and dispatch, and adhere to all safety procedures under changing conditions.

The role requires readiness for outdoor conditions, strong attention to detail for weights and documentation, and effective teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Operate rail loadout systems to safely and accurately load railcars according to specifications.
  • Monitor material flow, equipment performance, and product quality throughout the loadout process.
  • Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of rail and loadout equipment, ensuring cleanliness and safe operating conditions.
  • Coordinate rail movements through effective communication with train crews, dispatch, and plant personnel.
  • Follow all safety procedures and respond appropriately to equipment alerts or changing operating conditions.

Conditions of Employment
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug screen, and background check.
  • Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
Work Environment

Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
