Job summary

LanceSoft seeks a qualified Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join a skilled nursing facility team in Virginia. The PTA provides rehabilitation services under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist and supports patient-centered care.

Both full-time and part-time day shifts are available. Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, assisting residents, documenting progress, and educating patients on independence and safe mobility.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from an accredited PTA program.
• Current, unencumbered PTA license in the state of employment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to navigate EHR systems.
• Ability to use service delivery and other clinical software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with residents, physicians, therapists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
• Commitment to providing safe, compassionate, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of the licensed physical therapist.
• Assist residents in achieving optimal physical function and participate in rehabilitation programs.
• Implement treatment interventions according to therapy plans and patient needs.
• Work toward patient, physician, and therapy goals in a skilled nursing facility setting.
• Monitor resident responses to therapy and communicate changes to the care team.
• Educate residents on maintaining physical function, activity modification, and independence strategies.
• Teach appropriate independent exercise programs.
• Support safe mobility, functional movement, and participation in activities.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation using EHR and service delivery software.
• Communicate effectively with residents, physicians, therapists, nursing staff, and healthcare professionals.
• Follow applicable clinical, documentation, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Promote a positive, respectful, and patient-centered rehabilitation environment.
