Job summary

Mars Petcare in Kansas City, MO is seeking an entry level Shift Manager - Days to supervise a multi-production area on one shift, ensuring safe, efficient operations and high-quality output.

You will coordinate training, enforce policy, and drive continuous improvement while leading teams in a self-managed, collaborative environment. Requires degree, 5 years in production, and 3 years in supervision; bilingual a plus.

Qualifications

• An undergraduate degree or equivalent, preferably in one of Engineering, basic sciences or business related disciplines.
• Five (5) years experience in a production environment.
• Three (3) years experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Ability to convey communications clearly and concisely.
• Understanding of major functions within the plant and the ability to work directly with all levels and functions.
• Successful completion of a drug and background screen.

Responsibilities

• Convert materials into quality products on one shift, safely and efficiently.
• Recommend and implement changes in methods, equipment, systems and organization.
• Manage associate relations and opportunities for training and development.
• Set line performance standards and measure results.
• Troubleshoot process/packaging equipment to achieve performance targets.
• Ensure open communications and broaden team scope and responsibility.
• Advise on opportunities for technological advancement.
• Participate in implementing improvement strategies for near-term performance.
• Evaluate associate performance and support development plans.
• Stay updated on managerial and technical competencies.
