Job summary

MARS Petcare is seeking an Operations Manager to supervise a multi- production area on a single shift. The role focuses on coordinating short-term activities within guidelines to deliver high-quality products safely and efficiently.

You will lead teams, train associates, and enforce policy and strategy while driving continuous improvement across the line. The successful candidate will have several years in production, prior supervisory experience, and a strong lean/Six Sigma orientation, along

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in engineering, basic sciences, or business.
• Five years in a production environment.
• Three years in supervisory or managerial role.
• Two years of LEAN or TPM experience.
• Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Ability to convey communications clearly and concisely.
• Understanding of major plant functions and cross-functional collaboration.
• Successful completion of a drug and background screen.

Responsibilities

• Manage operating teams of a multi-line area on one shift to convert materials into quality products safely.
• Recommend and implement changes in methods, equipment, systems and organization to meet objectives.
• Manage associate relations and direct hiring, training, retraining, development and motivation.
• Set line performance standards and measure results, taking corrective action as needed.
• Troubleshoot process/packaging equipment with maintenance resources to achieve performance targets.
• Ensure open communications and broaden scope and responsibility of teams.
• Advise on opportunities for technology advancement within the line/area.
• Participate with Area and Operations Manager in implementing improvement strategies.
• Evaluate associate performance and develop plans to challenge potential.
• Keep abreast of managerial and technical competencies within and outside Mars Petcare US.
