Job summary

Mars Petcare US is seeking an Operations Manager to supervise a multi-production area on a single shift. The role coordinates short-term activities within guidelines to deliver high-quality, cost-efficient products safely and efficiently. You will lead teams, train associates, and enforce policy and strategy.

Key responsibilities include managing line performance, driving improvements, supporting associate development, and staying current on plant operations and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in engineering, basic sciences or business.
• Five years of production experience.
• Three years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multi-line production on one shift, ensure safe, efficient, high-quality output.
• Contribute to change initiatives in methods, equipment and organization.
• Manage associate relations, drive hiring, training and development with team autonomy.
• Set line performance standards, monitor, control and report results.
• Troubleshoot process/packaging equipment with available technical resources.
• Maintain open communications and promote scope expansion for teams.
• Advise on technology advances to move the line forward.
• Collaborate on operations strategies to improve near-term performance.
• Develop associates via plans and regular feedback, foster growth.
• Stay current on managerial competencies and plant functions.
