Job summary

Penguin Random House is seeking a Light Picker/Packer (Order Processor 1) for the Westminster, Maryland Distribution Center. The role runs Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:00pm, and involves picking and packing customer book orders using voice automation.

Applicants must have basic reading and math skills and be able to lift 25–35 pounds, stand the full shift, and climb stairs to an upper mezzanine. Background and drug screening are part of the employment process.

Qualifications

• Basic reading and math skills are required.
• Must be able to push, pull, bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 25–35 pounds on a regular basis.
• Must be able to stand for an entire shift with minimal breaks.
• Must be able to climb stairs and work on an upper mezzanine level.
• Minimum age requirement is 18 years.

Responsibilities

• Pick and pack customer book orders using a variety of methods including voice automation.
• Assist with efficient processing to support daily distribution goals (≈1.2 million books).
