Job summary

Indiana University Health, Inc. seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCA) to provide compassionate bedside care in a busy Indianapolis-area hospital. The role supports RNs with vital signs, safety monitoring, and assisting with meals, mobility, and hygiene tasks.

The position offers full-time day shifts with an emphasis on patient experience, safety, and teamwork. Candidates should have BLS certification or be completing IU Health PCA training, and be able to thrive in a high-demand environment.

Qualifications

• Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA or complete IU Health PCA program.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate care for patient populations and developmental levels.
• Ability to manage a high workload in a fast-paced environment and maintain safety and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Provide meals, drinks, and assist with nourishment and hydration.
• Assist with bathing, grooming, walking and linen changes.
• Monitor patient vital signs and report abnormalities to the RN or charge nurse.
• Maintain patient safety using gait belts and alarms; stay within arm's reach.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team.
