Job summary

Sentara Careplex Hospital in Hampton, VA is seeking a full-time Patient Care Technician for the Medicine Unit on day shift (7:00 am–7:00 pm) with rotating weekends. The role includes patient care, vital signs, mobility, phlebotomy, EKGs, and specimen collection under RN supervision.

Education requires a HS Diploma or equivalent, plus certification pathways such as CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or similar programs. A supportive benefits package is provided to eligible staff.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Certification programs to include CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or equivalent clinically oriented training.
• Current patient care role or clinical program exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Monitor and report patient conditions; observe physical, mental, and emotional status.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKG testing, POCT, and specimen collection.
• Document observations accurately and report changes to RN or care team.
