Job summary

Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Virginia is seeking a full-time Patient Care Technician for the Medicine Unit (Days, 7A-7P). Duties include assisting with daily living activities, taking vital signs, phlebotomy, EKG testing, and specimen collection under RN supervision.

Requirements include HS Diploma or Equivalent and BLS within 90 days of hire; 1 year healthcare experience preferred. Comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire (Required)
• One year prior healthcare experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with daily living activities under RN supervision.
• Take vital signs, assist with mobility and ambulation, and perform phlebotomy and specimen collection.
• Conduct point-of-care testing, EKGs, and Foley catheter insertion/removal per protocol.
• Monitor patient status and report changes to nursing staff.
