Job summary

Sentara Careplex Hospital in Hampton, VA seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Medicine Unit, day shift. Join a team providing patient care, assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and safely perform procedures under the RN's direction.

Requirements include a HS diploma or equivalent; certifications or active clinical study in RN/LPN/RT/PT are valued, with Basic Life Support and related credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent is required and listed certifications or active clinical program participation help.
• Multiple CNA/NCPCT/NCMA/Navy Corps certifications are acceptable per the job education section.
• Recent PCT or Nursing Assistant experience within last three years is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care and support daily living activities as directed by RN.
• Take vital signs, monitor patient status, and report changes promptly.
• Assist with mobility/ambulation and safety; collect specimens and perform basic tests.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKG, IV removal, and Foley catheter procedures per protocol.
