Job summary

Sentara Health in Virginia Beach is seeking a phlebotomy technician to perform patient blood draws, label and process specimens, and support accurate test data entry. You will interact with hospital staff and physicians to ensure timely results and excellent patient experience.

The role may include EKG and glucose meter tasks, bedside duties, and prompt attention to supply management while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required.
• 40 hours of clinical experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient phlebotomy and collects, labels, and processes specimens for testing.
• Registers and enters test data for accurate lab records.
• Monitors supply levels and maintains equipment.
• Interacts with hospital staff and physicians to resolve issues.
• May perform EKG and glucose meter, and be at the patient's bedside as needed.
