Qualifications

• Customer service skills with calm, respectful communication.
• Ability to identify and de-escalate unsafe situations.
• Proper body mechanics when assisting patients and moving equipment.
• Dependable, able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Obtain report from supervising RN at start of shift and at handover.
• Continuously observe patients as directed by physicians.
• Maintain sight/nearby presence for patients under supervision.
• Intervene to prevent safety risks and redirect patients as needed.
• Notify bedside staff of any changes or safety concerns.
• Use alarms appropriately and provide status updates to RN.
• Report patient changes to RN for documentation.
• Assist patients with toileting, reading material, and approved nourishment.
• Respect patient dignity and privacy; do not give medical advice.
• Adhere to HIPAA and institution confidentiality standards.
