UChicago Medicine seeks a Nursing Support Assistant (CNA) to support patient care under RN supervision in the Oncology/SCT unit at Hyde Park. You will perform routine tasks to ensure patient comfort, safety, and accurate documentation, contributing to high-quality care.

Responsibilities include vital signs, ADL assistance, specimen collection, room readiness, and CPR initiation. This role requires HCWR listing or eligibility and CPR/BLS certification; full-time, day shift, onsite work in Chicago.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be listed on IDPH HCWR as an Illinois CNA or a nursing student who passed the written competency exam and is listed on the HCWR.
• CPR/BLS Certification.
• Ability to read and write, perform simple calculations, follow instructions, work with minimal supervision, and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work with management and staff.
• Occasional lifting over 50 lbs may be required.
• Moderate to extreme physical effort including walking, standing, CPR, lifting materials/equipment/patients.
• Adequate vision, hearing, and tactile abilities to perform tasks.
• Frequent focused attention to interpret sensory inputs.

Aufgaben

• Provides basic patient care activities including vital signs and basic tests.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living using aseptic techniques.
• Assists with personal hygiene, ambulation and nourishment.
• Collects patient specimens and weighs patients as assigned.
• Assists with discharge and transfer preparation of patients.
• Maintains the patient environment and prepares rooms for admission/transfer.
• Maintains supplies/equipment and the environment.
• Communicates and documents activities in proper records or logs.
• Initiates CPR and alerts the physician as needed.
• Performs receptionist duties for the assigned area.
