University of Chicago Medicine is seeking a Nursing Support Assistant (CNA) to support patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, Clinical Supervisor, and Manager in the Oncology/SCT unit at Hyde Park.

This role involves performing basic patient care activities, vital signs, documentation, and assisting with daily living tasks, discharge prep, and unit housekeeping while ensuring infection control and safety standards.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be listed on the IDPH Health Care Worker Registry (HCWR) as an Illinois CNA OR a nursing student who has passed the written competency exam and is listed on the HCWR.
• CPR/BLS Certification required.
• Ability to read/write, perform simple math, follow instructions, and work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal/written communication and teamwork skills.

Aufgaben

• Provide basic patient care activities including vital signs and simple tests.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living with infection control.
• Assist with personal hygiene, ambulation, and nourishment.
• Collect specimens and assist with discharge/transfer preparation.
• Maintain patient environment and supplies; document activities accurately.
• Communicate and document activities in records or logs.
• Initiate CPR and coordinate with physician as needed.
• Perform receptionist duties for assigned area.
