Job summary

Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital is seeking a Nurse Leader to coordinate patient care, manage personnel, and oversee equipment and staffing for the Surgical/Inpatient unit.

The role requires guiding teams to deliver patient-centered care, participating in budget planning, and ensuring compliant care delivery across shifts. Ideal candidates have RN licensure, a nursing degree, and 2–5 years of nursing leadership experience; bachelor’s degree preferred with 5–10 years of leadership.

Qualifications

• Nursing leadership and staff supervision experience.
• Ability to coordinate patient care across units.
• Strong communication and payroll/administration skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages nursing staff, hires, trains, assigns work, evaluates performance, and supports professional development.
• Contributes to staffing, revenue and expense budgets; monitors adherence to goals.
• Oversees patient care planning and documentation aligned with policy and age/developmental needs.
• Develops collaborative care plans based on assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
• Monitors staffing needs and handles payroll updates, time cards, and team communications.
