Responsibilities

• Provides strong leadership, motivates staff, and responds to needs on the assigned department and shift.
• Organizes workload effectively and delegates responsibilities.
• Acts as leader for Nurse Manager or Director as appropriate.
• Recruits, interviews, coaches and develops direct reports; applies corrective actions as appropriate.
• Performs staffing duties within scheduling guidelines.
• Provides direct patient care as defined within the state nurse practice act.
• Documents in patient and department records accurately and timely.
• Triages and refers calls; communicates treatment instructions to patients and families.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and system-wide goals.
