Job summary

MercyOne Health System is seeking a NICU RN for the Waterloo Birth Center’s Level III NICU, a 28+ weeks gestation care unit with family-centered care. Day shift is 3a-3p in a 23-bed unit with LDRP capability and a NICU transport team.

You will provide specialized, evidence-based care, collaborate with neonatologists and families, and supervise the NICU nursing team to ensure optimal outcomes for vulnerable newborns. Education requirements include an Associate degree in nursing; BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with NICU experience or interest in level III care.
• Current Iowa RN license, BLS, Mandatory Reporter, NRP, ALCS.
• Associate degree required; BSN preferred; no prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based, outcome-focused care to critically ill and premature newborns.
• Supervise and coordinate the NICU nursing team in a dynamic environment.
• Collaborate with neonatologists, pediatric specialists, families, and other staff to ensure clear communication and optimal outcomes.
