Job summary

MercyOne Waterloo Birth Center, a Level III NICU, seeks a NICU RN for the night shift (3p–3a) to join a dedicated team in a 23-bed unit with family-centered care. You will assess, plan, and implement neonatal care for 28+ weeks gestation infants, collaborating with neonatology and pediatric teams.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license.
• BLS certification.
• NRP and ALCS certifications.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized, evidence-based care to critically ill and premature newborns in a dynamic NICU environment.
• Supervise and coordinate the NICU nursing team to ensure safe, effective care.
• Collaborate with neonatologists, pediatric specialists, families and other healthcare professionals for clear communication and outcomes.
• Conduct thorough assessments, plan and implement individualized care, and evaluate progress.
• Monitor for complex conditions, adjust care plans, and provide family education and support.
