Job summary

MercyOne in Waterloo, IA is seeking a NICU RN for a Level III NICU in a 23-bed Birth Center, including 19 large LDRP rooms. The day shift (3a–3p) offers family-centered care for 28+ week infants.

You will collaborate with neonatologists, provide evidence-based care, supervise the NICU nursing team, and educate families to support growth and development while delivering compassionate, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license and BLS.
• NRP and ALCS certifications preferred.
• No prior NICU experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care to critically ill or premature newborns.
• Coordinate and supervise NICU nursing team.
• Collaborate with neonatologists and families for care plans.
• Monitor, assess, and adjust care for evolving conditions.
