Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join Nebraska Methodist Health System. The role conducts diagnostic laboratory tests to detect, analyze, and support treatment of diseases, enabling high-quality patient care.

This 40-hour position runs 2:30 pm–11:00 pm with rotating weekends, requiring a BS in MLS/MT/CLS or NAACLS-certified alternate. We offer a $5,000 sign-on bonus, shift differentials, tuition assistance, academic sponsorship with Methodist

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science or Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology required.
• Or BS/BA with a NAACLS MLS/MLT/CLS certificate required.
• 1 year of experience in the applicable laboratory area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties of a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
• Accurately perform, evaluate appropriateness and report tests on patient specimens.
• Utilize time efficiently to complete assignments and assist coworkers.
• Quality control is completed and documented 100% of the time.
• Calibration is completed and documented 100% of the time.
• Routine maintenance is completed and documented 100% of the time.
• Comply with PPE guidelines 100% of the time.
• Document orientation, training and education to ensure competence and meet accreditation requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of regulatory and accreditation agency requirements and quality assurance activities.
• Proficiency testing is completed and submitted by the deadline.
