Job summary

Xcel Energy is hiring Material Handlers for its Maple Grove MN Service Center or Chestnut Service Center in Minneapolis, MN. The role involves unloading trucks, receiving stock and non-stock materials, put-away, order filling, staging, and processing shipping paperwork.

Forklift operation and safety are essential. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED; CDL Class A preferred or obtainable within 6 months; SAP and forklift experience preferred; ability to lift 50 pounds and

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• CDL Class A preferred, or able to obtain within 6 months.
• Forklift operator certified/preferred with experience and computer skills required.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Warehouse experience preferred.
• Knowledge of electric and gas materials preferred.
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds, work inside and outside in dusty environments and be in good physical condition.
• Able to work at heights of up to 30 feet as necessary.
• Will be required to work extended hours and respond to after-hour emergencies as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Unload carrier trucks and receipt of materials (stock & non-stock).
• Put away materials and stock in assigned & random locations; fill material orders for field; stage and track materials in database.
• Load/unload material delivery trucks and complete required shipping paperwork; process returns; maintain clean work areas; operate forklifts safely.
