Atkore Plastic Pipe Corporation is seeking a Manufacturing Shift Lead for the day shift (8:00am–8:00pm) at our on-site facility in Louisville, KY. The role focuses on setting up extrusion lines, monitoring production and quality, and mentoring operator staff. The position offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for technical growth.

You’ll lead shift activities, verify production data in the JDE system, and collaborate with teams to meet hourly goals while ensuring safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
• Experience with PVC extrusion operations or quick learnability.
• Set up machines and perform changeovers for production runs.
• Mentor Machine Operator levels I-III in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to read micrometer and OD tape accurately.

Responsibilities

• Set up machines for production runs and perform changeovers.
• Record production totals in JDE and assist with shift reports.
• Serve as a manufacturing technical expert for identified processes.
• Oversee floor operations and escalate issues to leadership.
• Monitor machine performance and product quality during shift.
• Perform minor preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Track shift goals on hour-by-hour boards and report progress.
• Provide mentoring to Machine Operator levels I-III.
