Job summary

University of Utah is seeking Maintenance Technicians to perform maintenance, repair, installation, and inspection of a wide range of equipment and building systems. You will diagnose issues with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components using standard tools and test gear.

Positions may be filled at Maintenance Mechanic I, II, or III levels based on qualifications, with mentorship provided to newer staff. Typical hours are 7:30AM–4:00PM, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience.
• Department may hire at Maintenance Mechanic I, II, III based on qualifications and departmental needs.
• Preferences include training in mechanical, electrical, HVAC or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on equipment, machinery, and building systems.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve issues.
• Provide guidance to less-experienced team members as needed.
