Job summary

SURGE Staffing is seeking an experienced Maintenance Lead in Bryan, TX, to support manufacturing operations by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining plastic injection molding equipment and automation systems. The role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and the ability to lead technical problem-solving efforts to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience repairing plastic injection molding machines and automation systems.
• Knowledge of 480V electrical systems, motor controls, AC drives, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to read mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
• Basic PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with machine shop tools, welding equipment, and fabrication tools.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plastic injection molding machines, automation systems, conveyors, and material handling equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, motor controls, AC drives, and 480V electrical systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, equipment installations, and emergency repairs.
• Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend improvements to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and document repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Follow safety procedures and promote a safe work environment in compliance with applicable requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance and production teams.
• Prioritize maintenance tasks and coordinate repairs to support production schedules.
