Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to provide direct patient care at our center. You will apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, while documenting and communicating care plans with the physician.

Qualifications

• GA LPN license currently.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient's physical and emotional needs and provides appropriate care and intervention.
• Performs the initial assessment upon patient's arrival and develops a plan of care with the physician.
• Performs ongoing assessment and communicates assessment and plan of care through documentation and reports.
• Documents nursing interventions and implements physician's orders in a timely manner.
• Correctly administers and documents medication regime.
• Identifies and implements infection control and safety practices.
• Organizes patient care and sets priorities, addressing acute needs first.
• Serves as clinical resource for MOA's and other non-licensed staff.
• Maintains skills checklist and assists with performing skills checklist on others.
• Completes six hours of continuing education within the review year.
• Acts as a preceptor to nursing students or new staff; cross-trains as needed.
• Cross trains to perform basic radiological and laboratory functions.
• Conducts at least one clinically related in-service for center staff.
