Job summary

Home Chef in California is seeking a Line Cook for the 1st shift (7:00 AM to 3:30 PM) with Fridays and Saturdays off. The role focuses on raw food prep, labeling, and documentation for Ready to Heat products, while ensuring food safety and SOP compliance.

Candidates should be able to manage multiple tasks, document key cooking data, and maintain a clean, safe workspace. The position offers on-site work with full benefits and a base hourly wage of $21.25.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma preferred but not required.
• 6+ months of production/warehouse environment preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with others as a team.

Responsibilities

• Raw food prep, washing, cutting, cooking, cooling.
• Label packaging at the standard rate and submit progress.
• Read and understand recipes.
• Cook food in ovens or tilt skillets; prepare sauces and components.
• Transition between tasks when needed.
• Move hot speed racks or food into blast chillers.
• Safely use all cooking, cooling, traying, and labeling equipment.
• Document times, temperatures, and other key information for food safety batch tracing & CCP documentation.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
• Conduct full changeovers when introducing a new allergen to a workspace.
• Run Clean cycles on Rational ovens, blast chillers, and clean tilt skillets.
• Follow GMPs and EOD cleanups; adhere to safety guidelines.
