Job summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a Housekeeper for 1st shift at Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute in Danville, VA. The role entails maintaining clean and safe facilities for patients, staff, and visitors, including bathrooms, patient rooms, and public areas.

Requirements include reading and following instructions, CHEST certification (or ability to obtain within one year), and the ability to work in a fast-paced behavioral health setting with initiative and minimal supervision

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and follow written instructions.
• Current CHEST certification or ability to become CHEST certified within one year of employment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment cleaning bathrooms, patient rooms, nursing areas, and other spaces.
• Ability to follow directions and take initiative with minimal supervision after training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain acceptable sanitation standards daily in assigned areas.
• Perform housekeeping tasks: cleaning, vacuuming, floor buffing, dusting, trash removal, sweeping, bathrooms supplies.
• Work in a fast-paced behavioral health environment, cleaning bathrooms, patient rooms, nursing areas, and other spaces.
