Job summary

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services seeks an Environmental Services (Housekeeping) staffer at SEVTC in Southeastern VA. You will perform routine cleaning of resident rooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas, and help maintain a healthy, safe environment.

Essential personnel may work varying shifts and overtime; pre-service training and CPR/First Aid certification are part of onboarding.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• General knowledge of cleaning methods and cleaning supplies.
• Knowledge of safety practices related to housekeeping.
• Self-directed with good attention to detail.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of resident rooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces.
• Follow established cleaning procedures and infection control standards.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Dispose of trash and recycling in accordance with facility guidelines.
• Report maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly to the supervisor.
