Job summary

The Cooper is seeking a Security Officer to ensure a safe environment for guests and colleagues, patrol the property, document hazards, and enforce hotel rules. You will also respond to emergencies, provide First Aid and CPR, and report deficiencies for immediate repair.

Responsibilities include reviewing shift logs, issuing radios and keys, escorting non-hotel personnel, inspecting bags, coordinating with external agencies, and maintaining CCTV surveillance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of security or military/law enforcement experience.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and de-escalation skills under pressure.
• Understanding of emergency procedures and safety regulations.
• Proficient in writing clear incident reports and using radio systems.

Responsibilities

• Protect guests and colleagues at all times and respond to incidents.
• Review logs, familiarize with daily shift information, and follow up actions.
• Issue radios and keys; maintain locks and records securely.
• Escort non-hotel personnel entering the property and inspect bags.
• Provide escorts for colleagues and monitor after-hours access.
• Coordinate emergencies and report to the Director of Loss Prevention as needed.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and investigate alarms per procedures.
• Patrol property with specified equipment and document actions.
• Assist in moving possessions and secure rooms; ensure ADA compliance.
• Complete paperwork and review status with on-coming officers.
