Job summary

Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa in Florida is seeking a Security Officer to maintain a safe environment for guests, colleagues and visitors. You will patrol areas, respond to incidents, and support fire and life safety programs.

Responsibilities include monitoring CCTV, completing detailed reports, and coordinating with local law enforcement when needed. The ideal candidate has a High School diploma, strong communication, and the ability to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prior security experience preferred but training available.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills for monitoring security systems and writing reports.
• Flexible shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
• CPR and First Aid certification are a plus (or willing to obtain).

• Patrol hotel property, guest areas, back-of-house, parking lots, and grounds to detect suspicious or unsafe activity.
• Respond promptly to emergencies including medical calls, fire alarms, disturbances, and safety hazards.
• Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs in accordance with hotel and legal standards.
• Monitor security cameras, access control systems, and alarm panels.
• Ensure all hotel policies and procedures are followed related to safety and access control.
• Provide escort services for guests and colleagues when requested.
• Support fire and life safety programs, including drills and checks of equipment and exits.
• Assist with lost and found procedures.
• Maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
• Work with local law enforcement and emergency services when required.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all guests, colleagues, and visitors at the hotel. This position supports the protection of property, assets, and people through patrolling, incident response, monitoring surveillance systems, and ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.

What you’ll do:

• Patrol hotel property, including guest areas, back‑of‑house, parking lots, and perimeter grounds to detect and respond to suspicious or unsafe activity.
• Respond promptly to emergencies including medical calls, fire alarms, disturbances, and safety hazards.
• Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs in accordance with hotel and legal standards.
• Monitor security cameras, access control systems, and alarm panels.
• Ensure all hotel policies and procedures are followed related to safety, emergency protocols, and access control.
• Provide escort services for guests and colleagues when requested.
• Support fire and life safety programs, including participation in drills and regular checks of fire equipment and exits.
• Assist with lost and found procedures.
• Maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality in all matters.
• Work collaboratively with local law enforcement and emergency services when required.
