Job summary

UW Health is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs at East Madison Hospital in Madison, WI. The role supports safe, efficient facilities for patients and staff, with duties spanning electrical, carpentry, plumbing and general maintenance.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of maintenance experience and a valid driver’s license, with opportunities for flexible scheduling across day/evening/night shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Required.
• 1 year of basic maintenance or repair-related experience Required.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical, carpentry, plumbing and mechanical systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, routine inspections and minor repair work at East Madison Hospital.
• Complete general maintenance duties including light electrical, carpentry, painting and plumbing to keep sites in order.
• Respond quickly to system failures with a strong focus on customer service.
• Help maintain building cleanliness, security and safety compliance.
