Job summary

Trinity Health in Michigan seeks a skilled Buildings & Grounds technician responsible for installing, inspecting, repairing and maintaining hospital machinery, equipment and furnishings. Under supervision, you will support patient care areas by keeping systems operational and safe.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, a vocational certificate, and progress toward a Journeyman license, plus at least three years in building maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational school certificate.
• Journeyman's license in mechanical trade within 6 months of start.
• Experience in HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Painting or Engine Repair.
• Three years related building maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Repair and replace plumbing/piping components, including drainage cleaning.
• Maintain irrigation systems and perform soldering up to 3/4" trade size.
• Repair electrical components up to 120V; no new installation work.
• Maintain building hardware and cleanliness of grounds, buildings, drives, and parking.
• Maintain hospital equipment and furnishings; replace defective parts.
• Weld/solder sheet metal and other metal products as required.
• Record time and materials using the department work order system.
• Snow and ice removal; ensure safe walking/driving conditions.
• Be available for call-ins and on-call status during inclement weather and emergencies.
