Job summary

Prime Healthcare seeks an Environmental Services Technician at St Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. You will clean and disinfect patient rooms, operating rooms, and common areas to prevent infection, handle waste disposal, restock supplies, and respond promptly to urgent cleaning needs.

Full-time role with 8-hour shifts (7:00am–3:30pm). The EVS Tech will travel between facilities to maintain high cleanliness standards across hospital environments.

Qualifications

• 1 year of knowledge within acute care hospital environmental service techniques, practices and procedures required.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to read, understand and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, operating rooms, and common areas.
• Properly disposing of medical and hazardous waste according to hospital protocols.
• Restock supplies like gloves, masks, and cleaning materials in various hospital areas.
• Clean and maintain floors, restrooms, and other surfaces with specialized equipment and chemicals.
• Respond quickly to urgent cleaning needs and communicate via phone, radios or pagers.
• Travel between facilities to maintain cleanliness standards.
