University Health KC's UH Lakewood Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Technician (EVS Tech) to join our hospital cleaning team. You will help maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors, following established cleaning procedures and infection-control standards.

The role involves moving furniture and equipment, operating floor care machines, and adhering to safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• English communication as primary means of interaction with staff, patients and visitors
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly and handle heavier items occasionally
• Knowledge of cleaning and floor-care equipment and safe operation
• Willingness to complete competency assessment after training within 30–60 days
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and pay attention to cleaning details

Responsibilities

• Clean and service patient rooms, common areas and spaces per procedures
• Move furniture, equipment and supplies as needed for setup and workflows
• Maintain cleanliness following infection control standards and safety procedures
• Operate electric and battery-powered floor care equipment to keep floors clean
• Read cleaning chemical labels and use products safely and correctly
