Job summary

ProTrans is seeking a Forklift Material Handler to load, unload, and move materials around the center, cross dock, trailers, yard, or job site. The role requires reading work orders, operating a forklift, and using a mobile scanner to complete receiving and shipping tasks.

You will follow safety procedures, participate in daily equipment checks, and help maintain a clean, organized work environment. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; or 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and write in English is required; bilingual English/Spanish is desired in some centers.
• Must pass the ProTrans Forklift Performance Test.
• Able to use scanning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Reads work order or follows instructions to ascertain materials to be moved.
• Receives items for shipment and inspects identity, quantity, and condition.
• Loads/unloads materials onto/from pallets and into carrier vehicles.
• Completes receiving and shipping documents per ProTrans specifications.
• Operates scanning equipment and uses labeling for shipments.
• Conducts daily safety and equipment checks and keeps a clean work area.
