Job summary

Chambliss Center for Children in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician to keep facilities safe, functional, and welcoming. The role supports children, families, and communities we serve throughout the area.

Responsibilities include completing maintenance orders, performing building repairs, and inspecting for safety concerns. The position offers daytime hours, occasional after-hours for emergencies, and benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of general building maintenance experience.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Ability to pass a fingerprint-based background check required for working around children.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Perform general building repairs, including: Plumbing, Basic electrical work, Carpentry, Painting, HVAC support.
• Inspect facilities and identify maintenance or safety concerns.
• Install, move, and repair furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
• Respond to urgent maintenance needs as needed.
• Help keep agency facilities clean, safe, and operating smoothly.
