Job summary

Chambliss Center for Children is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician to keep our facilities safe, functional, and welcoming for children and families in the Chattanooga area. You’ll complete maintenance orders, perform plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC support, and respond to urgent needs with a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of general building maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Ability to pass fingerprint-based background check required for working around children.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Perform general building repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC support.
• Inspect facilities and identify maintenance or safety concerns.
• Install, move, and repair furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
• Respond to urgent maintenance needs as needed.
• Help keep agency facilities clean, safe, and operating smoothly.

Chambliss Center for Children is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician to help keep our facilities safe, functional, and welcoming. Your work will directly support the children, families, and communities we serve throughout the Chattanooga area.

What We Offer

• Monday-Friday daytime hours
• Occasional evenings or weekends for emergencies or urgent repairs
• Pay: $17-$20 per hour, based on skills and experience
• Access to company work truck provided during shift
• No “On-Call” rotation. Very infrequent after hours demands

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

Physical Requirements

• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders throughout the day
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Travel between multiple agency locations throughout the Chattanooga area
