Job summary

The Western Connecticut Mental Health Network (WCMHN) within the State of Connecticut DMHAS is seeking a Custodian to perform custodial and janitorial duties at our Torrington facility and transition housing program. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

at 249 Winsted Rd, Torrington, CT. Responsibilities include cleaning, trash disposal, minor maintenance, snow removal, and space setup.

Qualifications

• Experience or training providing listed knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Experience delivering customer-focused support using interpersonal skills.
• Ability following oral and written instructions.
• Possession of current licenses, permits or certifications if required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine custodial tasks such as dusting, mopping, sweeping and sanitizing surfaces.
• Maintain cleanliness in offices, bathrooms, kitchens, common and outdoor areas.
• Collect and dispose of trash; report repair needs and perform minor maintenance.
• Run errands and assist with space setup or classroom arrangements.
• Inspect buildings for damage and report conditions to supervisor.
• May change light bulbs, replace fuses, lubricate hinges, and replace tiles.
• May remove snow/ice and apply sand or salt as needed.
