Job summary

Tidelands Health in South Carolina is seeking an Emergency Room Technician to support nursing staff and help deliver high-quality patient care in a busy ER setting.

The role requires CNA or nurse aide certification, EMT or related military medic experience, or nursing fundamentals training, plus strong communication and teamwork. Applicants must follow safety policies and may participate in behavioral health support when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with CNA certification, or nurse assistant program completion, or EMT certification, or military medic experience, or fundamentals of nursing course completed.
• Experience documenting patient care in electronic medical records is required or preferred.
• Strong communication skills across verbal, written and presentation formats.
• Ability to follow directions from RN/physician and educate staff as needed.
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Takes direction from RN or physician to maintain high standard of patient care.
• Responsible for accurate recording in electronic medical record as directed or needed.
• Responds to pages/codes accordingly and assists as directed.
• Assists with restraints when directed.
• May act as an observer for behavioral health complaints.
• Provides orthopedic support items such as crutches when applicable.
• Follows established safety and emergency policies and procedures in daily practice or emergencies.
