Job summary

Kennedy University Hospitals, Inc is seeking a Cytotechnologist to perform microscopic evaluation of gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens, including fine needle aspirations, and to screen slides for abnormal cells. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality results and collaborate with pathologists.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Cytotechnology with CAHEA accreditation and 2 years’ experience preferred; CP-BC certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Cytotechnology (CAHEA-accredited) required.
• 2 years’ experience preferred; student training accepted.
• CP-BC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with Jefferson values.
• Prepares and examines non-gynecologic and gynecologic slides for cellular evidence of disease and renders precise cytopathology interpretations.
• Assists with Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy and other procedures; communicates specimen submission requirements.
• Utilizes computer equipment to record and transmit laboratory data.
• Participates in Quality Control and proficiency testing programs to maintain certification.
