Missouri State University is seeking a Custodian I to perform semi-skilled custodial tasks across university facilities. The role involves cleaning classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas, using manual tools and powered equipment, and moving furniture for events. Responsibilities include snow/ice removal, setup for events, and routine cleaning of walls, windows, and furnishings. Shift is first shift, 8:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required or preferred
• At least 1 year custodial experience
• Must be able to read English well to understand work orders and safety instructions
• Able to lift 75–100 pounds frequently and stand/walk for long periods
• Must be able to use cleaning chemicals safely and follow safety procedures

Responsabilités

• Perform floor, stairs, and carpet maintenance using manual tools and powered machines
• Clean lavatories, restrooms, and restocking supplies
• Clean classrooms and meeting rooms including furniture and equipment
• Wash interior walls, windows, and surfaces; remove trash and recyclables
• Move and arrange furniture for setup and events; assist with snow/ice removal as needed
• Prepare spaces for events following setup plans and supervise safety
