Missouri State University is seeking a Custodian I for Residence Life, Housing and Dining Services on the Springfield campus. The role is union-bid with IBEW representation, 1st shift, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, Monday–Friday. Pay grade 21 with proposed salary $15.25/hr.

Open to MSU regular full-time employees represented by IBEW; non-visa sponsorship. The Custodian I performs semi-skilled custodial tasks, maintains restrooms, classrooms, and common areas, and assists with event setups and snow removal.

Qualifications

• Must read English to understand work orders and instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to work 1st shift 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, Monday–Friday.
• Significant custodial experience may substitute for formal education.

Responsabilités

• Perform semi-skilled custodial tasks in buildings, classrooms, offices, and restrooms.
• Move furniture for cleaning or events and assist with setup per plans.
• Clean glass, walls, floors, and surfaces using appropriate chemicals and tools.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain safety and security of facilities.
• Assist with snow/ice removal and outdoor cleaning as needed.
• Report damages and comply with safety policies.
