Job summary

Missouri State University seeks a Custodian I to provide semi-skilled custodial services across university facilities on the Springfield campus. Duties include cleaning classrooms, offices, lavatories, and common areas, and assisting with setup for events.

Requirements include completion of the 10th grade, at least one year of custodial experience, the ability to read English, and the physical capacity to lift up to 75 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.

Qualifications

• Must read English to understand work orders and safety instructions.
• Abilitiy to lift up to 75 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods and perform bending/reaching daily.
• Ability to operate manual and electric cleaning equipment.
• Some positions may be designated essential and require reporting during severe weather.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial services for buildings, classrooms, offices, lavatories and restrooms following established procedures.
• Move furniture and equipment for cleaning or special events as needed.
• Clean and maintain interior and exterior areas, including snow/ice removal from entrances and walkways.
• Follow safety guidelines and use cleaning chemicals and equipment as directed.
