Job summary

Allied Universal in New York, NY is seeking a Security Officer for the Full Time Day Shift Corporate Building Patrol. You will protect client properties by patrolling, reporting incidents, and delivering outstanding customer service to tenants and visitors while maintaining a visible presence.

The role requires a NYS Security Guard license, high school diploma or equivalent, and compliance with background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and vendors by carrying out security procedures and site policies, including emergency response when needed.
• Conduct regular and random foot and vehicle patrols of interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to assigned areas, verify visitor/contractor authorization, and report access concerns to site personnel.
• Respond to incidents and alarms calmly; document observations and complete incident reports.
• Maintain a professional presence and assist with directions, tenant requests, and communication with property management and emergency responders.
