Job summary

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ is hiring a Nursing Assistant for full-time day shifts (7a–7p) in Med-Surg, Geriatric & Renal. You will support nursing staff, assist patients with daily activities, deliver meals, transport within the facility and help maintain a safe, healing environment.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED. Preferred CNA certification, BLS, and prior acute care experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CNA certification preferred; BLS certification preferred.
• Acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports nursing personnel in providing direct patient care and assists patients with daily activities.
• Serves and collects food trays and provides between-meal nourishment.
• Changes bed linen, runs errands and prepares and sterilizes treatment trays and supplies.
• Transports patients within the facility for consultations, treatments, tests, or examinations.
• Measures and records patients' vital signs such as temperature or pulse and provides basic treatment.
• Ensures a safe care environment for the patients and their families.
• Performs continuous rounds and check-ins throughout the shift to ensure patient and family needs are met.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
