Job summary

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Assistant I to join the Surgical Access team on the day shift (5:30am-3:30pm) in Morristown, NJ. You will assist nurses, transport patients, take vitals, and support daily activities to ensure a positive patient experience.

This role requires a High School diploma or GED and BLS certification; CNA certification and prior medical-surgical/long term care experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• BLS certification required.
• CNA certification preferred.
• Prior medical-surgical/long-term care strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports nursing personnel in providing direct patient care and assists patients with daily activities.
• Serves and collects food trays and provides between-meal nourishment.
• Changes bed linen, runs errands and prepares and sterilizes treatment trays and supplies.
• Transports patients within the facility for consultations, treatments, tests, or examinations.
• Measures and records patients' vital signs such as temperature or pulse and provides basic treatment.
• Ensures a safe care environment for the patients and their families.
• Performs continuous rounds and check-ins throughout the shift to ensure patient and family needs are met.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
